I-85 REOPENED SOUTH NEAR VIRGINIA STATE LINE - ALL CLEAR
All lanes of I-85 South have reopened at Exit 233, US-1, in Warren County near the Virginia State line after a prior crash. Traffic flow has returned to normal and all congestion has cleared.

HEAVY TRAFFIC EXPECTED DURING MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY WEEKEND
Motorists in North Carolina can expect heavier than usual traffic conditions due to holiday travel from Friday, May 25th through Monday, May 28th.
Motorists should also anticipate major travel delays along I-85 near the North Carolina-Virginia State line due to long-term construction and seek an alternate route.
NCDOT reminds motorists to leave early and to travel during non-peak hours when possible. Motorists should drive safely, obey all posted speed limits and refrain from texting while driving.

POSSIBLE DELAYS ON I-77 IN VIRGINIA NEAR THE WEST VIRGINIA STATE LINE
An extensive paving project in West Virginia on I-77 North and South near the Virginia border may cause major traffic delays near the East River Mountain Tunnel. Significant delays are expected for weekend traffic throughout the summer months.
